The Johns Hopkins University is located in the United States. This private university institute in Baltimore, Maryland, was founded in 1876, thanks to a $7 million bequest from US businessman Johns Hopkins. Later, in 1893, the same bequest financed the opening of the Johns Hopkins Hospital, which was also intended to be a medical faculty. Both institutes were the first in the USA to be devoted to research and are considered amongst the best in the world in the fields of applied physics, international relations and medical studies.

The institute offers numerous undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes and includes the Baltimore headquarters and other institutes in Washington D.C., Bologna (Italy) and China.

Customer Request
Student lockers to be installed in the hobby area where there are often balls flying around from various games and the risk of of all kinds bumps, with aesthetics to be compatible with the corporate colours.

Ravasi’s Solution

Ravasi solved this issue by supplying lockers with 6-mm thick HPL (High Pressure Laminate) doors. This ultra-resistant material was tested by the customer, with the special construction bearing aluminium profiles in a natural finish and doors in blue (the corporate colour).

The top of the cabinets was made at a 30° inclination to prevent objects getting stuck on top, with electronic combination locks also being fitted.
